The Roosevelt Pools site is home to Georgia’s largest and most renowned warm spring, which flows at an impressive rate of 914 gallons per minute with a consistent natural temperature of 88 degrees Fahrenheit. For centuries, these mineral-rich waters have attracted visitors in search of both relaxation and healing. Its most famous visitor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, first arrived in 1924 seeking relief from the effects of polio. His connection to the springs would later play a vital role in shaping the history of Warm Springs—and the nation.
