Ronald H. Hicks, Obituary
September 15, 1954 – June 24, 2023
Our glorious child of God, Ronald H Hicks of Manchester NJ, passed into eternal peace free from pain on Saturday June 24, 2023.
Ronald was born in Somerville NJ, on September 15, 1954, to his parents Carlton Francis and Willa Mae Hicks, who predeceased him along with his loving sister Frances “Sue” Hicks. He grew up a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church in Somerville New Jersey.
Ron graduated from Somerville High School and received his Bachelors degree in Accounting Management from Pepperdine University in Malibu California. He worked at Bank Of America in Beverly Hills, L’Oreal USA in Clark, NJ, and most recently Supermarkets General in Woodbridge, NJ.
Ron loved to travel, and music was his passion, which he shared with all. He was a gym enthusiast spending countless hours keeping physically fit. He also enjoyed seeking out fine restaurants to dine with family and friends.
Surviving are his loving and devoted/caring sister Caryl Hicks James and brother in-law, Allen James, Jr., of Snellville, GA, and brother, Carlton Hicks, and sister in-law Dian of Lubbock TX.
Ron is lovingly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially his childhood friend Hector Gonzalez of Somerville, who he was very close to, who shared fond and endless memories of times spent with Ron.
Ron was eternally grateful to everyone at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills NJ, and Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care, Toms River NJ, for their excellent and loving care.

Tony Lowden is the Executive Director of Stone Academy, an after-school enrichment program that serves at-risk children in the Macon-Bibb County area. He has served as a youth pastor at Lundy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church as well as in leadership capacities in numerous civic organizations in the Macon-Bibb area, including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development Board and the Board of Directors for the Center for Racial Understanding. He is a 2011 graduate of the esteemed organization Leadership Georgia as well as 2014 graduate of the inaugural class of the Bailey-Sullivan Leadership Institute of the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO).
